Its collection is preferred during the flowering period, mainly due to its high content of essential oil, which is in the middle of summer.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In Greece there are about 17 different types of mountain tea, depending on the area they grow. The Cretan mountain tea is considered unique, (known as &#8220;malotira&#8221;) for its healing properties and is now considered protected and its free and uncontrolled collection is forbidden.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, there are many important species of Greece, such as the mountain tea of \u200b\u200bOlympus &#8211; Sideritis scardica that grows only on the slopes of Mount Olympus, the tea of \u200b\u200bTaygetus &#8211; Sideritis clandestina, Euboea tea &#8211; Sideritis euboea and Parnassos tea &#8211; Sideritis raeseri.<\/p>\n<p>The main ingredient of mountain tea is the essential oil. While it also contains flavonoids, triterpene acids, polyphenols and is a plant particularly rich in iron.
