Our hair is the jewel of our face and an important indicator of our physical and mental health. Weak and dull hair can indicate a lack of vitamins or minerals in our body, while premature graying is a sign of inflammation in the body. Many times, of course, dull hair is a harmless indicator that everyday life, pollution and styling products have tired our hair. There are herbs and herbal oils that will make your hair shiny, healthy, elastic and easy to comb!

Coconut oil

Coconut oil for body and hair is already famous, as it repairs damaged ends, deeply moisturizes the hair, prevents hair loss and contributes to faster hair growth. Of course it is not limited there as it is a natural sunscreen and protects against wear and tear from high temperatures. It leaves the hair hydrated and silky. If you have dry hair, apply once a week for 1 hour all over the head and then shampoo. If you have oily hair, limit the use to the ends.

Argan oil

Argan oil is extracted from the fruit of the Moroccan tree of the same name Argan. It is an ideal oil for deep nourishment and repair, especially for damaged and dyed hair, offering a variety of vitamins and fatty acids, as well as important antioxidants that protect hair from ultraviolet radiation. Jojoba oil

Favorite oil for me as I have very oily hair but at the same time thin and brittle. An important factor for the use of jojoba oil in oily hair, is its compatibility with the natural oils of our scalp. Jojoba oil deeply moisturizes, protects against premature aging and deeply repairs broken hair. Gives hair shine and softness. Jojoba oil is ideal for night treatment, as it will work even better during sleep.

Avocado oil

Avocado oil is ideal for the care and protection of hair with dry skin and dandruff. You will see it work wonders on hair damaged by straighteners, but it is impossible to use on oily hair.

Almond oil

Almond oil is ideal for thin and brittle hair, while as a very thin and soft oil, it does not weigh down hair that lacks volume. You can use it daily on wet hair. A few drops on the ends will protect the hair from breakage!

Olive oil

Of course, our oil is ideal for protecting the hair, especially for people suffering from scalp skin diseases. It protects against infections, while a weekly mask will deeply moisturize and nourish your hair. With 2 tablespoons spread over the entire surface of your hair, you can leave the olive oil for 1 hour before shampooing.

Marsh- mallow

Marsh- mallow, like its close relative mallow, is an excellent emollient herb. From the root to the flower, the marsh mallow, offers softness and treats irritation, itching and dry skin. Another important property of marsh mallow is the treatment of gray hair. Try the regular rinsing of the hair with marsh mallow and take advantage of the softness it offers, the treatment of frizz and the enhancement of the elasticity it offers. Arctium Lappa – Greater burdock

Horsetail improves blood circulation to the scalp, making it one of the best herbs for treating hair loss. Soak in 2 parts boiled water, 1 part horsetail for 1 hour and leave to cool before applying to hair. Ideal for dry and frizzy hair.

Henna

Did you know that henna not only dyes hair but nourishes and protects it? There is of course a neutral henna that works purely for this purpose. Especially the high content of allantoin, offers regeneration to the damaged and injured scalp from intense dry skin and itching. The infusion from comfrey, makes the hair extremely soft.

Cumin

Cumin, and especially black, has such a high content of vitamins, minerals and trace elements that it exceeds our expectations. Recovers the lost volume and moisture of the hair, offering elasticity and shine, an ideal herb for systematic anti-aging of hair and skin. Calendula

Like chamomile, calendula is a mild anti-inflammatory herb, with intense moisturizing and emollient action, ideal for skin diseases, sensitive skin and of course for the care of children’s skin and hair. Calendula oil will strengthen and soften your hair, while water will make your hair easy to comb.

Fenugreek

Febugreek is already known for the protection it offers from hair loss, but also for the silky, shiny effect it gives to the hair. The main property that fenugreek offers is the significant improvement of the circulation, which automatically means strengthening of the scalp, and increase of the hair growth. The mask of fenugreek needs preparation: soaking the seeds for at least 8 hours so that it can become a paste and spread like a mask on the hair. Leave on for 30 minutes and rinse well.

Flax

Along with enhancing microcirculation, it protects and regulates the skin’s natural pH, while being compatible with all hair types. It can be used without fear in young children, while in fact as a natural insect repellent, it protects against lice and other parasites that prefer clean, pure children’s hair.

Licorice

It is worth mentioning licorice and only for its important action in the treatment of psoriasis. It is already known that it nourishes the hair and has antiseptic, antifungal and anti-allergic action. But its effect in the treatment of eczema and psoriasis is also important for the hair. At the same time, it nourishes and rebuilds the damaged scalp from chemicals and air pollutants. Licorice is ideal for dry, damaged hair, skin diseases and shine. Boil licorice root for at least 30 minutes, and after it cools, apply to hair and scalp.

Try the rosemary infusion for rinsing the hair but also the oil for dry skin, dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis.

Sage

Sage is not only rich in vitamins, minerals and trace elements, but it is a good anti-allergic and antibiotic herb, which strengthens hair, improves growth, and treats scalp diseases. Sage oil is ideal for massages but you can always use the infused sage for rinsing and / or the essential oil in your shampoo.

Thyme

Like sage and rosemary, thyme disinfects and protects against infections and skin diseases. Uses

Herbs are ideal for use in the last rinse, thus leaving all the nutrients in our hair. All you need to do is have a ready-made, lukewarm decoction or infusion in a jug for the final rinse. You can combine herbs for the desired effect such as rosemary with sage and chamomile. You can of course make a nice spray with herbs, so you can spray your hair whenever you feel that they want hydration or shine!

Another use is the extraction of herbs in the oil that suits your hair, for even better results, while the slightly warmed oil when applied to the hair softens them even more and allows nutrients to pass through the hair. Last important use of herbs, are their essential oils, which can be added to ready-made shampoos and oils, conditioners, masks.
