Relaxing iced tea with herbs!

Home made Ice tea recipe

The summer is here and is expected to be very hot! Exposure to the sun, increased sweating and, of course, exercise during the summer months require proper hydration of our body! Many herbs have wonderful taste even cold, offering delightful beverages along with their beneficial properties!

A favorite recipe that I use in the summer months, consists of 6 ingredients, and it benefits our body, preserving its wonderful taste!

Ingredients for one liter of iced tea:

  • 2 tablespoons of chamomile flowers
  • 1 handful of mountain tea
  • 5-6 lavender flowers
  • 6-8 melissa leaves
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice

The process is easy: boil the chamomile for 6 minutes, remove it from the heat and remove the chamomile flowers. Then add for 6 minutes the mountain tea with the lavender and the melissa. Strain and add honey, stirring to dissolve completely. Once it has cooled down, add the lemon juice and store it in a bottle or jug, preferably glassware. It is kept in the refrigerator for 3 days and of course it can be combined with juice of your choice, or to give taste in a homemade drink!

The combination is ideal as these herbs work together, providing relaxation, hydration, better digestion, comfortable sleep and energy! In the summer months, you can cultivate and have your own herbs available for many refreshing drinks as lavender blooms in the summer months, as well as the best season of melissa is from May to September!
